MUD CLOTH PLAIN
Made in Mali the Mud Cloth also known as the Bogolanfini is an important part of Malian culture. Strips of cotton fabric are woven on a narrow loom and then sewn together to form a larger cloth. The cloth is then soaked in a bath of mulch of leaves from local trees. Traditionally worn by hunters as camouflage and worn by women after child birth the Bogolanfini is a ritual for protection.
Each textile is handmade using traditional techniques, slight imperfections occur making each one unique.
